# About Us

## Who we are

We are KnowMeQ, a Toronto-based EdTech company founded in 2020. We build AI-powered tools that help governments, enterprises, and education institutions close skills gaps and move workers into higher-value roles faster. Our platform is a web-based SaaS suite that sits at the intersection of workforce diagnostics, science-validated assessment, and postsecondary credit recognition.

We were incubated through Hamilton's Innovation Factory and the Center for Local Innovation and Collaboration. Our leadership team includes:

- **Matt Foran** — Founder & CEO, who has led the company since inception and also co-founded Simple Movement eLearning.
- **Ali Kokulu** — Chief Technology Officer.
- **Tim Foran** — Brand Lead.
- **Parker Gilpin** — Finance.

## Our mission

We create 21st-century solutions for longstanding workforce and productivity challenges. Our day-to-day work is driven by a simple belief: workers come first. By enabling lifelong learning and upskilling, our products support workers, their companies, and their communities. In practical terms, we accelerate the upskilling of our economy by combining AI with science-validated assessments to identify real skills gaps and recommend concrete retraining pathways.

## How we partner across sectors

We deliver value to three primary partner types, and each engagement is configured to the partner's context.

### Governments

- We help public-sector partners retrain mid-career shifters and laid-off workers, with the goal of boosting regional economic growth.
- We have run large-scale benchmarking assessments for advanced-manufacturing workforce programs, most notably a study of more than 900 employees across 115 manufacturing companies for NGen's Future Ready program. That work was funded by Employment and Social Development Canada.
- Our assessments adhere to the international competency standards developed by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) for workers in modern, industrialized economies.
- We have produced an International White Paper on Credit for Prior Learning, funded by ONCAT and the Province of Ontario, which informs our public-policy engagements.

### Enterprises

- We work with businesses to match employees to government-subsidized upskilling opportunities, filling internal skills gaps and lifting productivity.
- Our Skills Assessor AQ product quantifies employee skill levels across functional, foundational, and adaptability domains to surface where upskilling will deliver the highest return.
- Customers use our assessments for recruitment, onboarding, lateral moves, and succession planning.

### Education institutions

- We automate Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) assessment through our Archie CPL product, helping colleges evaluate and award prior-learning credit in minutes rather than months.
- We open doors for non-traditional learners — adult learners, military veterans, newcomers to Canada, and Indigenous individuals — by mapping their existing skills to college programs.
- Our CPL work helps colleges grow enrolment and tuition revenue while shortening credentialing timelines for working adults.

## Our Adaptive Quotient Index (AQi)

Our Adaptive Quotient Index is a core differentiator and the foundation of our Skills Assessor AQ product. The AQi is a science-validated index that measures an individual's ability to adapt and thrive in rapidly changing work environments, going beyond conventional skills testing. Adaptability is one of the most important predictors of success in today's and tomorrow's world of work, and our AQi scores help forward-thinking businesses identify, develop, and retain talent.

The AQi underpins our patented methodology — "Method and system for determining an adaptability quotient index" — and is the first workforce HR solution of its kind to provide science-validated Adaptability Quotient scores at enterprise scale.

## Our products at a glance

We organize our work around three core products:

- **Archie CPL** — our AI-Accelerated Credit for Prior Learning tool, built specifically for postsecondary institutions to accelerate CPL applications and course-credit decisions.
- **Skills Assessor AQ** — our workforce HR solution that uses the AQi to help employers identify skills gaps, develop talent, and plan for workforce change.
- **Career Recommender** — a tool that helps workers retrain into new careers faster by matching assessed skill profiles to viable career pathways.

## Where we operate

Our roots are in Ontario, and our current operational footprint includes Canada and the United States. Our CPL partnerships span colleges on both sides of the border. We are preparing to expand into additional foreign markets as demand for CPL automation and AQi-based workforce diagnostics grows.

## Recognition and ecosystem

We work alongside a network of established partners who lend credibility and reach to our mission. These include the Province of Ontario, ONCAT (the Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer), NGen, the Vector Institute, Fleming College, and Innovation Factory. We also participate in the Founders Network community of operators.
